There is indeed a new queen present, to which I am very relieved. We did not see her, but there is new eggs laid in some frames on the top brood box and no doubtfully on the bottom as well. This comes as a plus because now there will be a strong and plentiful amount of winter bees. They will now have a good chance of survival, which also makes me feel better. I am concerned about the amount of honey and pollen stores that they have. We will probably begin feeding them some pollen patties and 1:1 sugar syrup soon and throughout the winter. I also noticed some mites. Though naturally they will have some, i'm beginning to become concerned if there are too many. I'll be researching some ways to help reduce the mite population; possibly some drone frames, but we'll see.
